A report released by Civic Enterprise, the Everyone Graduates Center, America’s Promise Alliance and the Alliance for Excellent Education indicated that, for the first time in history, the U.S. graduation rate for public high school students rose above 80% in an effort to meet a goal of 90% by 2020. The report also cited a 15% increase in graduation rates for Hispanic students and a 9% increase in graduation rates for African American students.
